Effective brushing is essential for thorough cleaning of teeth and gums.
Within Dentqiue we recommend the following brushing techniques;
Choosing your toothbrush
Use a toothbrush with a small head and soft bristles. A good quality electric toothbrush is highly recommended.
Best times to brush
We recommend that you brush morning and night (before breakfast and after dinner).
Where do I brush?
Place bristles along the gumline at a 45 degree angle. Bristles should contact both the tooth surface and the gumline.
How hard should I brush my teeth?
Gently brush the outer tooth surfaces of the teeth using a small amount of light pressure, moving the brush in small circular motions.
Getting the right technique
The same technique may be used for the inner tooth surface or you might opt to tilt the brush vertically using several up down strokes as far behind the front teeth as possible.
Where do I place the toothbrush?
Place the brush against the biting surface of the teeth and use a gentle back and forth scrubbing motion. Brush the tongue from back to front to remove odour producing bacteria. This procedure should take approximately 4 minutes. An electric toothbrush is a very effective tool when used correctly- same 45 degree angle but hold the handle still.
